Do
Hammocks Rot?
Hammocks
do not rot if properly cared for.
Our cotton hammocks are 100% cotton, meaning that the material
can deteriorate in certain circumstances (like any other cotton
product, like clothing). If cotton gets wet, it is no problem
and will not rot if it is dried out promptly and thoroughly
within 24 hours, so accidentally leaving it in the rain will
not destroy it.
Remember, that proper care and attention will
assure a long life for your hammock.
Nylon hammocks are highly resistant to moisture-related
rot. Nylon hammocks may be left in the outdoors for the entire
summer with little danger of rotting. The material dries out
very quickly after it has become wet, and is naturally resistant
to mold, must and deterioration. The same is for the parachute
nylon hammocks as well as the nylon rope hammocks.
